The Gathering – A Full Online Permaculture Design Course for Artists and Creatives

Online – Starts September 2025

A learning journey and community of practice for artists, creatives and cultural workers who want to slow down and explore how we can live well, now. This unique 72 hour course takes the classic Permaculture Design Course as a starting point, creating a learning community who will learn and deepen their permaculture design skills so that they can bring a truly regenerative focus to their work. This is the course for you if you would like to begin to explore and use regenerative permaculture design processes in your work and life. By the end of the course you will have created at least one fully implemented, or partially implemented design using regenerative tools, principles and frameworks.

The Meeting Point – An Introduction to Permaculture for Artists and Creatives

A course designed specifically with artists, creatives and cultural workers in mind which introduces the basic concepts of Permaculture and explores how these ideas can be used to deepen creative practice and to bring a new ethical basis to projects, particularly in relation to ecology, natural systems and regenerative cultures. This is the course for you if you want to dip your toe into the ideas and ethics behind Permaculture Design, and to learn a selection of tools to help you start grounding regenerative ideas and practices in your work.

Introduction to Regenerative Cultures: A two hour workshop aiming to support cultural and civic workers to explore what notions of “regeneration” and “regenerative” may mean within their own practice, and how thay may relate to the wider climate and ecological crisis.

Introduction to Permaculture for Gardeners: A course for domestic scale gardeners and growers. It will introduce the basic concepts of Permaculture and explore how these ideas can be used to create an abundant and regenerative garden which is grounded in place through deeper connection to ecology and natural systems.

Introduction to Permaculture – Creating A Small Home Garden (Online): A permaculture course co-created with Life Skills for Better Future for people living in Kakuma with the initial focus upon the development of small home gardens. We will explore how these gardens can provide food to eat and sell, but also to support improved physical and mental wellbeing, and to develop learning and skills that particpants may take into other areas of their life.

Previous Courses

An Introduction to Permaculture as a Tool for Regenerative Civic Engagement (Online): What if all civic engagement focused upon the creation of thriving regenerative cultures? This unique course, designed specifically with public engagement in mind, will focus upon just that. It will introduce the basic concepts of Permaculture and will explore how these ideas can be used to deepen participation whilst also aligning more closely with nature and the natural world.
