Mud and Culture – Permaculture Zine

“Mud and Culture” is an occasional zine considering ideas around Permaculture, art and imagination.

It explores how Permaculture Design can be used to deepen connection to ecology and natural systems, and also how it can be used to encourage more regenerative lives.

Edition Three was inspired by the theme “Obtain a yield” which is the third of David Holmgren’s permaculture principles.

It includes contributions by Jez Green, Ruth Singer, Angelica Vanasse, Polydord Wasokye, Sally Bajkovich, Lorenza Casini, Camo / Carolyn Morton, LeftCoast and Nathan Parker.

All profits from sales of this zine go to “Life Skills for Better Future” – a communtiy led organisation founded by Polydord Wasokye in 2018 in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Turkana West, Kenya. They work to fill in some community gaps that displaced refugees and vulnerable members of the host community are going through.

Commissioned Zines:

We are really interested in the ways that zines can be used to share research and learning, so were really excited to make two zines with our friends at Left Coast to mark a year’s learning around regenerative practice within their place based creative work in Blackpool.

If you would be interested to learn more about more about how this approach may work within your organisation / project please feel free to get in contact via the form at the bottom of this page.
