Funded by Arts Council England, The Storybox Project : At Home is a pilot exploring new approaches to creative work that engages, empowers and enlivens people living with a dementia. Building upon 12 years of practical experience, the pilot will look at moving from an artist led model of delivery, to an artist supported model in an approach combining imaginative creative activities with training, resources and coaching.
We will be working in carehomes, and other settings that support people living with a dementia, alongside activity co-ordinators and care staff exploring how they can develop and run their own imaginative, creative activity programmes on an ongoing basis. We will also be working with family carers exploring how they can include creative, fun activities as part of their day to day routine. Initially we will be working with three carehomes in Greater Manchester, and with five family carers in Bury.
The project is supported by Bury Art Museum, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council and Making Space.
