A Week In Rehearsal – Resonance of Seclusion

It is always funny to return to a play that you have worked on before and re-visit the characters and story, like returning to a place that used to be familiar but that you haven’t been to for a very long time. Going back to the rehearsal room with The Resonance of Seclusion was a lot like that last week – going back to it with some trepidation that it would have change somehow in the time that we had been apart. However, we shouldn’t have worried because everything started to fall back into place as soon as we began working in our gorgeous fifth floor rehearsal space at First Street in Central Manchester.  Characters began to come back like old friends and locations that they visited were reassuringly familiar. It was good to be back!

So, last week we spent a wonderful five days bringing our story back to life and getting used to working with each other again as an ensemble. We also spent time each day drawing so we could really begin to get a feel for Joash Woodrow and how he functioned in his day to day life.

Now, we head into our second week and we know that our show will have its first audience on Thursday at The Lowry. We also know that some time today a selection of Joash’s pictures will be arriving at The Lowry to be exhibited alongside our performance – a hugely exciting prospect. We have a busy week ahead of rehearsals and preparations but we are really excited about sharing the inspirational story of Joash Woodrow with an audience once again in four days time.
